Most men don’t give a whole lot of thought to their skin. In fact, when most think of skin care, they think of women. But just like her, you’re covered in skin! So why not take care of it? You won’t just look better, but you’ll feel better too.
Men’s Skin Care Tips: Exfoliate
Exfoliating involves scuffing off the dead skin cells on the skin’s surface. This prevents the dead skin cells from clogging pores and causing pimples. Exfoliating alos leaves your skin looking and feeling smoother and softer.
There are lots of exfoliation products available for face and body. But even a simple once-over with a loofah while you’re in a warm shower can be sufficient to remove some of those dead skin cells. Ideally wait to exfoliate at the end of your shower, as this loosens and softens your skin, making it easier to scuff away that dead layer of skin cells.
Men’s Skin Care Tips: Moisturize
Moisturizing your skin is really important, as it will prevent you from developing dry, itchy skin, especially in the cold, dry winter months. So apply a body moisturizer at least once a day; ideally twice a day in the dry winter months.
Moisturizing also helps to minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles, which can age your face significantly, especially over time. So when you moisturize regularly, you’ll actually look younger! So invest in a good quality face cream and eye cream.
Men’s Skin Care Tips: Don’t Forget Your Feet!
Feet are an area that’s easily forgotten when it comes to skin care, but they’re an area of your body that needs a lot of attention. Let’s face it: there’s no bigger turn off than a man with funky feet!
So invest in two essentials: a foot file or pumice stone and a foot cream, like Burt’s Bees coconut foot cream. The foot file or pumice stone can be used to file off the dead skin on your heels and the soles of your feet while in the shower. If you do this daily, your feet will actually look great and you won’t risk painful skin cracks either. File your feet at the end of your shower for best results.
Alternatively, you can opt for a dry foot filing device, like the Pedi Egg, although this tends to be more time intensive.
Additionally, apply foot cream at least 3 times per week. This will prevent your heels from looking dry and crusty, while improving the overall look of your feet. You may also want to invest in a periodic pedicure at your local nail salon. It sounds like an indulgence, but you’ll be shocked how fabulous your feet (and hands, for that matter, if you opt for a manicure too) can actually look!
